TACO BELL WILL OPEN IN BUCAREST
American fast-food chain Taco Bell will open its first restaurant in Romania on next October 12 and will be located in the Baneasa Shopping City mall in Northern Bucharest.
Currently, the chain owing Taco Beell has just 350 restaurants overseas. It plans to jump from being in 23 countries to being in more than 40.
Taco Bell is a fast-food brand which believes that’s a recipe for success that can take it from $10 billion in annual sales today to $15 billion by 2022.
To support its growth, Taco Bell plans to add concepts and expand on existing ones. This includes adding locations in densely populated urban markets where there is no room for a drive-thru.
The South-Californian brand is part of the Yum! Brands portfolio and is the main chain of quick service restaurants (QSR) in the world that offers Mexican-inspired products, according to a press release from Sphera Franchise Group.
Sphera Franchise Group is the largest restaurant group in Romania, it runs the Taco Bell franchise in Romania. The company also operates the KFC, Pizza Hut and Pizza Hut Delivery franchises on the local market, with a total of over 100 restaurants and total sales of over EUR 130 million per year.
The company has recently launched a social media campaign announcing the new unit.
Taco Bell has already started recruiting employees who will work in the Baneasa mall restaurant.
The company that owns the Taco Bell restaurants and franchises currently operates over 7,000 restaurants worldwide : it generates annual sales of over USD 9 billion.
Furthermore the chain has modernized, improved its menu, and created concepts that work in all different markets.
The chain, often heralded as a favorite late night stop of people who have been tying one on, has announced plans to open between 300 and 350 “Cantina” style locations, which will sell boozy concoctions ranging from beer and wine to margaritas and other alcohol-infused slushies.
They’ll follow the model of the company’s Las Vegas Taco Bell Cantina, which has been a popular stop for people walking the city’s famous Strip.
The Cantinas will also serve sangria and “Twisted Freezes,” frozen drinks with tequila, rum, or vodka.
